Dangleben's Pinnacles, Dominica

00150_05_small.jpg, Link to nextDangleben's is a series of five pinnacles on the submerged part of the rim of the dormant volcanic crater, the land ward side of which forms the coastline of Soufriere Bay at the southern tip of Dominica.

Dangleben's is a location that doesn't score highly for visibility, though the visibility is good enough to enjoy the impressive scenery. It is the profusion of marine life close to the reef that pushes this dive into my top ten.

With the rich water available there are some fantastic sponges, then there is a great spread of Caribbean reef fish and loads of little critters like shrimps and arrow crabs.

As I noted in my criteria at the beginning of this selection, I could easily dive this site again and again.
